This recipe returns me to the childhood when the variety of pastries was exhausted with 2-3 kinds of cakes, boza … and the obligatory tulumbas, baklava, kadeif and walnut cookies. I definitely did not fall on the cakes, but the other pastries were really my favorites, especially in combination with the slightly sloppy boza that spilled into glasses. Try and enjoy this nice homemade dessert.
- 4 egg whites
- 8 tbsp. Sugar
- 1½ cups of ground walnut kernels
- 4 tbsp. full grain flower
- 1 tbsp cinnamon
Beat the egg whites and sugar on snow. Add ground walnuts, cinnamon, and finally flour, making sure you do not get lumps. From the resulting mixture, make small walnut cookies. Lay them on greased baking paper and decorate each walnut cookie with a whole walnut on top.
Bake in the oven at 180°C until the cookies get a nice golden color. It should take about fifteen minutes.
Eat them chilled.
