Roasted chestnuts
We have already brought to your attention various recipes for roasted nuts – like our favorite almonds with saffron or spicy peanuts and here’s our recipe for roasted chestnuts.
Ingredients:
- 2 cups of chestnuts
- 2 sprigs fresh sage leaves
- 50 g melted cow’s butter
- 1/2 tsp. sea salt
Preparation:
Choose a medium sized pot of water and allow to boil. Turn off the heat, add the chestnuts and let stand for 1 minute. Remove the chestnuts and put them on a cutting board. With a sharp knife, carefully cut the X on the rounded side of each chestnut.
Mix chestnuts, sage leaves, butter and salt in a bowl. Stir well.
Lay the tray with foil and spread the chestnuts in a single layer on top. Bake for 30-40 minutes at 220ºC in a preheated oven.
Serve hot.
