Paloma Cocktail
Ginger is not a traditional ingredient in Paloma cocktail, but when it replaces soda in the classic recipe, adds an amazing aroma that just screams – the holidays are coming!
Ingredients:
For ginger syrup:
- ½ cup sugar
- 3 cm slice of fresh ginger
- 8 mint leaves
For the Paloma Cocktail:
- ice
- ½ cup of grapefruit juice
- 1/3 cup pomegranate juice
- juice of half a lime
- 2-4 tbsp ginger syrup
- 60 ml of tequila
- ginger beer or sparkling water for pouring
Preparation:
Ginger syrup:
In a small saucepan, place half a glass of water, sugar and ginger. Allow to boil, reduce the temperature, allow to simmer for 1-2 minutes and remove from the hot plate. Add the mint, cover with a lid for 10-15 minutes. Strain and store in a glass jar in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
To complete the cocktail:
Fill the glass in half with ice. Add the pomegranate, grapefruit and lime juice, the ginger syrup and tequila. Stir to mix well and then top with ginger beer or sparkling water. Garnish with mint. Enjoy!
