Mulled red wine with spices
With the approach of Christmas in many places appear my favorite Christmas markets, where the first thing I want to try every year is cup mulled red wine.
At home, I like to make this recipe because the whole house smells divine. This is the best scent you can welcome guests on the holiday. The most commonly used wines for hot spiced red wine recipes is Beaujolais and Pinot Noir wines. Whatever the rules, the most important thing is that to use the wine that you like. I love Syrah and with it I also prepare my own mulled raspberry wine.
- 750 ml of red wine
- 200 g fresh raspberries
- juice and of 1 orange
- 1 star anise
- 1 tsp allspice
- 1 tsp cloves
- 1 stick of cinnamon
- 2 sprigs fresh rosemary
- ½ tea cup maple syrup (can be substituted with honey or sugar if desired)
- 1 tea cup raspberry syrup (concentrate)
Put all the ingredients without half the raspberries in a 1.5 liter pot. Leave the remaining raspberries for decoration. Heat over medium heat without boiling for about 20 minutes. When you feel that the spices have released their aroma, then your wine is ready.
Serve immediately, garnish with fresh rosemary, cinnamon stick and other raspberries.
