Grilled Halloumi Salad
When grilled, halloumi cheese is rich in flavor and marvelous in taste. It takes no time to make and the result is delicious and satiating. So is our salad with grilled halloumi that might just turn into your favourite summer supper.
- 1 lettuce or iceberg lettuce
- 1 small can of chickpeas
- 1 cucumber
- 1 clove of garlic
- 1 small red onion
- 1 package halloumi cheese
- ½ tsp. za’atar
- 10 cherry tomatoes
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- ¼ tsp. freshly ground black pepper
- ½ tsp. salt
- 5 tbsp. Olive oil
- 2 tbsp. red wine vinegar
Prepare all of the ingredients, chose a plate and add the vegetables.
Roast the halloumi cheese on a grill pan and add it to the vegetables.
To prepare the dressing, mix the lemon juice, the olive oil, and the vinegar together. Season the salad with it.
Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
If you have za’atar you can use it, but if don’t, you can skip this part.
I am giving you my recipe for za’atar in case you are curious and want to add a pinch of eastern taste to your salad:
Mix 3 tsp. sesame grilled on a dry pan, 3 tsp. wild thyme leaves, 1 tsp. sumac and ½ tsp. salt.
