Dressing with blue cheese
Enjoy one of our favorite recipes for perfect dressing with blue cheese. Of course, there are many ready-made variants in the shops, but preparing it at home will give a note of individuality. The recipe is easy to prepare and is suitable for a lot of dishes. Besides the classic combination with iceberg (the sauce is poured on a slice of iceberg)-so they served it in an old steakhouse in Kansas City. The pub has no long existed, but the memory of this silky-like texture dressing with fragrant cheese and a pinch of pepper for the balance still orbits the world. So we tasted it on our last trip to England in a very pleasant place to eat in Redding – Miller & Carter Steakhouse.
You can combine the dressing with blue cheese also with: baked potatoes, chicken wings and even pasta.
The good news is you can store it in a jar in the fridge for 1-2 weeks. Prepare it and enjoy it. It’s so yummy, you might be tempted to eat it immediately.
Ingredients:
- 1/4 cup of crumbled blue cheese, plus an additional 1-2 tbs. for sprinkling finally
- ¼ Cup sour cream
- ¼ Cup buttermilk (you can replace with mix of equal parts fresh and sour milk)
- Freshly squeezed juice from half a lemon
- 1 small head of white onion (if you have fresh onions use 2 sprigs. The white part blend with the base mixture and the green one use to sprinkle the salad or dish you are preparing)
- ¾ Cup mayonnaise
- ¼ tsp. salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper
Preparation:
Put in a food processor blue cheese, sour cream, buttermilk, onion and lemon juice. Blend until the onion is well blended.
Pour into a bowl and add the mayonnaise. Season with salt and pepper.
Add the crumbs of blue cheese for more texture and stir.
